Intensive anti-corruption training for future leaders

The School on Integrity, 6 – 12 July 2020,Vilnius, Lithuania.

Every summer since 2010 Transparency International has organised “The School on Integrity” in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris Law School in Vilnius.

This is another opportunity for New Zealanders to update themselves on what is happening internationally. Janine McGruddy represented New Zealand in 2016 or 2017.

Sir Anand appointed to IACC Council

Sir Anand Satyanand has been appointed to the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) Council for a six-year term. His appointment signals a significant advancement of the role of the Pacific and New Zealand within the international anti-corruption community.

Sir Anand is a former Patron of Transparency International New Zealand (TINZ) and currently a member of the Transparency International global Advisory Council.

Transparency International Elects New Global Leader

Argentinean Lawyer Delia Matilde Ferreira Rubio was elected chair of Transparency International, the global anti-corruption movement, at its Annual Membership Meeting in Berlin on 15 October 2017. Reuben Lifuka of Zambia was elected as Vice-Chair.

Transparency International (TI) is a global movement to stop corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society.

Transparency International Elects Six Board Members

Elections during Transparency International's 2014 Annual Members Meeting portend massive changes to the movement.  Not only did the members elect a new Chair and Vice Chair, but six of ten directors positions were also contested with only three incumbents running. The elections provided the organisation and its members an unusual opportunity to establish its direction for the future.

TI 2020 – Transparency International’s Strategy

A key task for the new Transparency International Board Chair will be leading the development of TI’s 2020 strategy.

To collect evidence for the strategy, TI Secretariat staff designed a five-question survey that addresses the opinions of Chapters and Individual Members (IMs) about TI’s 2015 strategy.

The survey results indicated that both chapters and IMs want a more people-focussed strategy.

Elena Panfilova elected Vice Chair of Transparency International

24 October 2014

Moscow-born Elena Panifilova was elected as the TI-Vice Chair at the 2014 AMM. 

This followed her election in 2011 as a Director of the TI Board where she chaired the Board’s SAFE Committee and was a member of both the Integrity Awards and the Communications Committees.

Elena was active last year when the G20 was in Russia and visited Melbourne during the C20 in June to promote the progression of anti-corruption recommendations to the G20 meeting in Brisbane in November.
