
Peter Boshier was most recently New Zealand's Chief Ombudsman finishing that term in March 2025. Born and educated in Gisborne, he practiced law in Wellington and was appoined as a District and Family Court judge in 1988. He became the Principal Family Court Judge of New Zealand in 2004 and upon completing his 8 year term was appointed as a Law Commissioner. During his term as the Chief Ombudsman, Peter worked collaboratively with TINZ and has been a keen supporter of its work.
