COVID-19 and the risks ahead: The only certainty is uncertainty

Melanie Webb, the Assistant Auditor-General has written another great blog on the February 2021 Public Sector Leaders Integrity Forum, the theme of which was maintaining integrity when the only certainty is uncertainty. Transparency International New Zealand, with the support of OAG, runs these forums for senior public leaders.  The forums follow the Chatham House Rule, to encourage peer discussion on integrity, transparency and accountability. Anne Gilbert, our Public Sector Integrity manager facilitates the forums.

True to the topic, this forum had been postponed from 2020.   Peter Hughes, Public Service Commissioner was Chair.  The first speaker, Dr Caralee McLiesh (Chief Executive and Secretary to the Treasury)  reflected on the challenges and rewards of the past year. The second speaker, Chris Seed (Chief Executive and Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade)  focused on the changing global context - both as a result of COVID-19 and due to changes in and between major nations.

This was a fantastic forum and we encourage you to check out the blog.
